I loved these boots and bought for my husband as a Christmas gift. He gets lots of compliments on them so we do take the effort going to the cobbler to fix the ones zipper that has come off twice now. My husband doesnt wear these often as he works in a hospital I thought it was a fluke thing but sadly these other reviews show its an issue with many 🙁 love these as they are beautiful just wish for the price they were made with the quality we paid for. I wish we could atleast buy zipper replacements as the cobbler can never quite match it which again is sad for $400 low dress boots

Id rate less than 1 Star if I could. Received the boots, put them on and they fit great, took one step (literally one step) toward the mirror and the zipper split. I returned them for being defective then ordered a second pair. The same thing happened again, both left boots split. Just started another return on the second pair.

painful boot to walk in. the design digs into the bottom of the ankle bone causing pain every step. Plus they tried way too hard to make these look rustic. Highly recommend you avoid this boot.

For the price point, fantastic! Fit & size is spot on. This is quality old-school suede hide. The boot is structured but pliable and wear comfortably. Best part, people keep asking what are they, where’d (ZAPPOS) you get them, love the style & color. Good purchase, great service.

i’m the owner of many boots and shoes that are good quality. frye brand has long been a favorite.
i really like the frye austin in most every way. the style makes a statement, they’re cut is like a great fitting blue jean. the v detail in the front and back top of boot is spot on. take into consideration when fitting that the style lends itself to being tight. that’s great because the leather upper and soles will stretch as the boot wears.
word to the wise would be that the suede faded black turns out looking a rich chocolate hue but not black.

For starters, I have only had this boot for one week and so far I love it. I am an 8.5 in the Chelsea style boot so I purchased the same here, it was snug enough at first but already the leather has begun to form and Frye was very helpful in placing an order to swap it for a size 8. Boot feels high quality and the cut does a good job of hiding the zipper. As someone who doesn’t have the biggest calves and needs to wear fitting jeans for work this boot is the perfect height/ width at the top; haven’t had any issues with it sneaking out of my pant leg.

Anyone who thinking of spending a good amount of money in order to get a quality product, look elsewhere.
Pictured is the broken zipper on my Austin inside zip boot. The zipper material is clearly cheap and broke after only a handful of wears (you can see the unworn tread on the other boot pictured) Now I’m stuck paying a cobbler to fix the mistake after Fyre refused to help.

My new Austin Inside Zip boots are fantastic. They fit and have been comfortable right out of the box. The narrow shaft allows me to wear jeans with narrow straight legs. The details seem good too. Zipper is robust and stitch pattern on the toe is traditional and good looking. The leather is thick and tough but soft. These boots seem like they will last. I just spent a weekend in NYC on my feet the entire time. All over the city and my feet feel great. I recommend these boots for sure.

The boots look great, but unfortunately, I experienced the zipper issue mentioned in other reviews. While attempting to wear the boots for just the second time, the left boot zipper broke. Very disappointing for a $380 pair of boots.

Have been a loyal Frye consumer for years. I purchased the Austin’s with a bit of apprehension after reading reviews about sizing and quality.
Purchased 10.5 normal sizing and they are a tad bit larger however will depend on thickness of sock.

Good so far although there is a minor glitch with stitching along the zipper. Nonissue with effectiveness and function.
Boots look great and only time will tell but based on experience ( 4 pair) they will be fine.

DONT BUY THESE!!! I have bought many pairs of Frye boots in the past and I can promise you that this isnt the company it used to be. The third time I wore these the top leather rail ripped off as I was putting them on. Customer service has been reduced to a robot and they couldnt even replace the boots for me. All I got was a 10% refund . GOOD BYE TO WHAT USED TO BE A GREAT COMPANY

Terrible craftsmanship. I bought a pair recently, and both zippers broke the first time I tried them on. So, I returned them and bought a second pair. The zipper busted out the second time I wore them. Honestly, I’ve never reviewed any product, restaurant, service in my life. However, this is too much. I currently own three pairs of Fry boots, and I’ve never had a problem. Now I’m going to pay to have these boots fixed. Don’t do business here.
