My husband is typically a 9.5 or 10 and has wide feet. He couldn’t put his feet in these 9.5. The leather felt like it would be comfortable once broken in. I compared this to the flex version and the leather felt softer on this. I didn’t know what the flex offered because they looked identical.

This shoe is very well made with high quality leather. The only drawback is the toe box is VERY pointed. Some time with a mallory stretcher took care of this problem, and now the shoes are perfect.

Very happy with this purchase. I’ve been a Frye fan for 10+ years, with mostly good results. Some boots can be sized inconsistently . . . these shoes are true to size, and well made. My fav. is the color: While listed as “black” they are actually more of a black with hints of oxblood (burgundy) showing through, which makes them very versatile to wear with dress slacks normally worn with both black and burgundy shoes/belt. They also look great with jeans, which is how I pair them often (work casual – dress shirt or sweater and jeans).
