These boots are gorgeous and quality is excellent! Ive worn them for 3 days and they are really breaking in well. They were actually more comfortable than I expected on the first day, so Im excited to see how they continue to wear in.

For years I’ve wanted a pair of Veronica combat boots but never decide to get them. One day I walked in to my friend’s apartment and noticed his combat boots(which weren’t a frye brand). I couldn’t get the Veronica combats boots out of my head. I just had to have them. I’m so in love with my first pair of frye combat boots.

Not what Frye used to be. Material is unforgiving on your feet.

After reading multiple reviews across various platforms I was a little hesitant to order my normal size (7.5) for my wide feet and large frame. When my beautiful caramel boots arrived I was smitten but afraid. They were very stiff, but I was prepared!!! I fully unlaced them and donned a pair of thin cotton socks. The process of getting my feet inside the boot was uncomfortable, but relacing the boot was easy. I wore them around for a few hours with no discomfort, although they did feel stiff. The next day, I was determined to wear them all day, and after struggling again with the stiff leather to get them on, I comfortably wore them all day! No blisters, no rubbing, no uncomfortable squeezing. I have just completed my second full day of wearing them, and getting them ON is getting much easier, but I still have to unlace the top grommet and loosen the rest. I think these boots just require the time to get acquainted. This is a form fitting boot. It wont be loose and easy at first. It requires time to loosen up. If you invest the time and have faith, these boots could very well be as comfortable for you as they are proving to be for me.

I researched these boots for ages and found it hard to find anything that really compares the combat vs. the flex combat so I’ll try to add my observations. I tried the Combat in an 8 (my normal size for Frye so far) and I said No the second I slipped my foot in. I liked the low profile sole which is more refined than the chunkier lug soles on the Flex. However the fit felt about a half size small and the leather was very stiff and the sole very rigid. I exchanged for an 8 1/2 in the Flex (both in solid black) and the fit was much better, the leather a good bit softer and the lug sole is a little more flexible. I’ve been wearing Docs for decades so it has taken some getting used to the small toe box. People mention difficulty getting them on and off. I’ve decided this is simply a matter of folks being so used to the new style of having zippers on all boots. These will have to be unlaced by about two sets of grommets and then you can loosen them all the way down, simple as that. It might take a full minute to put both boots on. I feel like I have the time for that. These boots are gorgeous. They polish up nicely and look “dressy” enough for my fine dining management job. They look nice with slim cut suit pants and blazer. Non-slip, good ankle support but no cushion insoles. Keep this in mind when choosing a size and remember the small toe box. No real break in period but they are getting more comfortable and flexible with every shift. Highly recommend the investment. They are well made and should last which is an absolute must with the price point. Time will tell.

These boots are fantastic and so comfortable. It is the great craftsmanship you’d expect from Frye products.

Heavy duty, yet.The leather interior is supple. I had to return esize 9.5 i normally wear a 9. Said to order half size bigger. Still a bit tight, so I ordered a 10. The 10 is slightly loose in the heel. However, it is a very cool looking boot . I ordered the antique black, which is really nice looking.

These boots are beautiful and comfortable for me. I bought them after realizing all of my boots are the same shade of conservative brown. The boots are good quality leather and well made, the rose color is nice and not over the top.
