Unable to exchange for a larger size per
Policy(?) from a show company? Ridiculous.

I am a regular Frye boot wearer–love my Fryes–ordered the first pair in my usual size and couldn’t get them on. Ordered a half size up, and my toe still hit the end and the boot was too narrow.

I bought these a couple of weeks ago and they have become my favorite. I love them.

I received these recently, opted to go through Zappos and not Frye because the Frye website said they were all sold out. I knew Zappos would let me return them relatively easily… but there will likely be no reason for any of that because they felt lovely right out of the box! They are more beautiful in person than in photos, and give that clean, simple look I want from my boots. The cherry on top is the low heel with a RUBBER sole. Yay! Perfect. I will say these boots need to be broken in. Initially they felt fine as I sat at my desk, but as my feet swelled a bit my right foot felt uncomfortable. This is unique to me, since my right foot is slightly larger than my left and I sat in that position for quite a long time! I know that in a few wears things will stretch for me on the right. I was also able to wear some medium thickness Smart Wool socks with these just fine. Looking forward to wearing these, even though it will be mostly around the house for now in these covid times.

Was looking for a nice “ankle” boot that didn’t have a high heel on it. These are very comfy and true to size (I wear an 8). I wouldn’t wear a thick sock w/ them though. I have the Caramel Apple color and it is true to color as well. LOVE the color. Can be dressed up w/ a skirt or slacks…or dressed down w/ jeans. Super cute! I get tons of compliments on them.

Classic look with beautiful styling. Fit true to size. Many compliments

I love this boot, however it was very tight fit. I am a solid 9.5 in Frye and this boot felt a whole size smaller. It was tight around the foot which I could live with because leather needs to be worn in. However it also felt short in length which I could not live with. Maybe it was the type of leather?? I have multiple boots and shoes from Frye and I will continue to buy them because of the quality but super bummed this one didn’t work. I am returning them.

Returned another Frye bootie for this one because I couldn’t get my foot into it. Opted for the zipper on the inside of this boot. I am looking for a solid, high-quality leather boot that will only get better with age and I want a low heel. I wanted the black leather but but they didn’t have a 9.5 so I went with the black distressed. I normally wear a 9 but went up half a size after trying on the first bootie. When they arrived they had that great leather smell and are beautifully crafted – love the rubber sole on the bottom including the heels. That being said, the distressed really isn’t my style although my only option. I tried them on and OMG they were difficult to get on. Once I managed to make that happen, they are quite narrow on my feet. I walked around the house with them on for about an hour however it was late in the day after work, in the 90s outside and I had worn sandals all day. I’m waiting for a cooler day to try them again before making my determination. It feels like they will probably start molding to my feet after a couple of wears – at least that’s what I’m hoping. No chance of a sock any thicker than pantyhose to start off with. They have the potential to become my fav boot but that’s going to take some time. As for the distressed look, I’ll probably just use some black shoe polish to make it a little less noticeable. Right now they look like a puppy tried to chew on them!!!!

This is the last time I buy Frye Boots. They are impossible to get on. With my first pair, no zipper , which I kept, the customer service rep told me to wreap plastic bag around my foot to slide them in. This pair with side zipper is equally impossible to get on. Somebody needs to redesign these !!

I sent these booties back because they were impossible to get on. Even with a side zipper

I returned these. I have several pair of Frye boots and booties. I love them. These were very stiff. I could barely get them on. The left heel felt like it was already rubbing. Very disappointed in this boot

These are so gorgeous, I want them so bad but my wider feet couldn’t even fit in the boot.

These boots are as pretty as you can get for a heavy boot. They were too heavy for my big feet and small frame. You could feel the quality and workmanship of Frye with the fully leather stacked soles and rubber tread, but to me they felt like wearing clunkers. If you like Blundstone but want something prettier and more urban, these would be a good choice. It was just not what I was looking for. I have other Fryes in different heights and colors that are lighter weight than these.

The ankle seemed like it had been stretched out overall and in a couple spots. Was odd. Also, not as classy as looked online.

I didn’t like the baggie ankle on the boot. It was worth a try but, nah…

This boot is handsome and well made. The heel is a good height, however the sole was not what I wanted.
Tina –
These are quality thick leather boots so they will take some breaking in. They are definitely getting more comfortable but I’ve been wearing them a few times a week for about 6 weeks now. The outside is still pretty stiff but starting to bend but the inside is pretty comfy now. This is pretty normal for this kind of boot. It’s not a typical cheap Chelsea boot I think it should last for years to come. I ordered my normal size and it was a bit snug but is stretching out. I got the slate color and it’s a nice dark brown. Shows distress when it gets scratched but that’s part of the beauty of this boot.

Could not get on my foot. The zipper isn’t long enough or the shaft is too narrow. Tried using a shoe horn, both with and without socks. Didn’t even get close.

I usually wear Taos and I feel these were comparatively much larger. That said, absolutely gorgeous and expensive looking shoe. The width around the ankle was too big for me.

These boots are beautiful, but I felt like the ugly stepsister in Cinderella trying to get my foot into them. They are impossibly small.

Love this type of Frye boot.

I bought two pairs of these boots- black and brown. The brown pair fit but the black pair initially came in as the wrong size 6. 5 not an 8. 5 like I ordered and they replaced them but they are still much tighter than my brown pair like barely can get them on. The brown pair fit and Im on my second day of wearing them (to an office job) and the stitching up the back is coming apart after a day and a half of wear. I thought this brand was better quality- Im disappointed that I spent the money on them.
Tifani P –
Extremely uncomfortable! Cant even wear them.
Deb R –
I cannot even get these on my feet they are so small. I bought my regular size, and have FRYE boots in the same size, and I cannot get my heel into these. I thought stretching them might help, the stretcher doesn’t fit into them they are so small. I sent an email acknowledging that it was a final sale but these almost seem defective because I have extremely small feet and have never experienced this before.
Adrienne S –
Runs small and squeak. Frye placed these boots on sale because they do not accept returns. Ridiculous return policy. Will neither recommend nor purchase another pair of Frye boots.
Should be zero stars.
